You Are the Boot
Life is breaking you in, preparing you for the season ahead. Its hard on you so as to know where it can take you. It choose you for a purpose, but you’re not ready for it yet. Its taking you places, far away. Its sending you over a mountain. The mountain is today, and tomorrow, climbing, step by step. You are the boot.
Miles and miles ago you looked up and wondered. Wondered how far it was to the top. Now you know. You know the pain it took, and the pain it will take yet. Choose that pain. Like leather, you were made for pain, for work, for adversity. Suffering is good. Walk the weakness out of you. Choose the path ahead, uphill, instead of the path behind.
Today, I think, you know what you must do. Either you must continue, or you must begin. The first miles will blister you. They will harden you too. They become routine. Don’t stop halfway. Continue on, through the pain. Pain, after all, is what you were meant for. To endure it. To become one with it everyday. To walk to the place you’re going. One foot in front of the other.
